Think that a submission is like an empty box that you can fill with different metadata objects. Hence, the very first step is to get your empty box! For that, you have to add a title and a short description. Please, bear in mind that this information will only be available to the owner and collaborators through the Submitter Portal.
It means that this field is mandatory, and cannot be left empty. Otherwise, you will not be able to save your submission.
In case you need external help in your submission, similar to data brokering, you can add collaborators to your submission by clicking in the checkbox. There are two options when adding a collaborator to your submission. Let’s find out!
For that, you need to click on Search for a User… and start typing! You can use the name of the collaborator, the registered institutional email or even their username.
Also, when adding a collaborator you can decide the permissions you want to grant them. Do you want them to check if a certain information is correct, but you do not want them to modify your submission? Give them reading permission only! However, if you would like them to register and/or modify registered objects, give them reading and writing permissions. Finally, give them full access to let them manipulate the submission as they please
Imagine that you usually add the same collaborators to your submission, you don’t have to add all collaborators each time! For that, we have implemented the option to add collaborators by submission. Search for an old submission of yours using the submission ID or title, and we will add the same collaborators immediately!
Once you have selected the collaborators don’t forget to click the Add button!
Once you are happy with the information added to your submission click on Create and start registering the metadata objects!
